Air Force Association

Ray Johns (Executive Vice President – Flight Safety) receiving a recognition plaque from Iron Gate chapter president Tony Cipriano after Ray’s delivery of an informative talk on “How to Frame what the Air Force Does in a Concise Manner”.

Ray addressed the rather appropriate topic of “How do you respond when someone asks ‘What exactly does the Air Force really do’”?  Ray advised that you answer with the following three categories (behind which of course is a ton of detail!) “Vigilance – Reach – Power”.

Ray described, as only a retired Air Force General could with a ton of his detail regarding both strategy and tactics in each of the three categories.  As would be expected of a good leader, Ray constantly went to the point that while technology is good it is the Air Force people that make the organization great talking specifically to the three points of “People – Readiness – Acquisition”.

Plan on attending Iron Gate luncheon’s so you can hear first hand from people such as Ray John’s what today’s Air Force is facing and how it is accomplishing its mission….and where organizations such as Iron Gate can assist.
